Autism in the first child hood is the subject of the Day Center for Children with Developmental Disorders of the Mental Health and Adolescent Adolescents-EFPPEA (non-profit). The Day Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities has been operating since 2005 in Messolonghi and focuses its interest mainly on preschool children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and their families.

It offers an early diagnosis, in depth assessment and treatment program from the age of two (2) years. Treatment is intensive and long-lasting. The aim of the Center is to maximize the potential of every child with autism to achieve the best possible social adaptation and independent living. The results of early intervention to date are very encouraging. The Day Center is funded and supervised by the Ministry of Health under the “PSYCHARGOS” program.
